Surface Generation Ltd have launched an online interactive simulation of the company’s Near-net-shape Pin Tooling (NPT) process which allows users to load, manipulate and ‘cast’ monolithic marine, automotive and aerospace component resin patterns.

The application highlights NPTs ability to automatically support SMP, PU and Epoxy castings and demonstrates the real-world cost, quality and delivery benefits NPT provides over conventional, manually blocked, approaches. The virtual tool mimics Surface Generations unique process by moving beds of adjustable square pins up and down to create the design surface and produce highly accurate, vacuum integral, neat-net-shape polymeric forms.
