Paragon Rapid Technologies is pleased to announce that further to upgrading its SL machines, it is now offering the latest DSM Somos material, ProtoGen 18920, which has the look and feel of a grey engineering type plastic. This is a fast-processing liquid photopolymer that creates highly accurate ABS-like parts and provides high dimensional stability and temperature resistance.
This resin has a variable processing latitude, so by adjusting the laser exposure the material can offer either better flexibility with lower thermal stability or alternatively more rigidity with higher temperature capabilities. In addition, this material can be thermally post cured to reach stability up to 96°C.
18920 offers good chemical resistance and excellent tolerance to a broad range of temperatures and humidity's, both during and after build, making it ideally suited to medical applications as well as scientific, automotive and aerospace.
Paragon is offering this resin at the same price as 9110 and Watershed XC resins. Parts in 18920 can be built in one piece up to 250 mm x 250 mm x 250 mm.
