Free Educational Seminar Programme | | There are two seminar theatres within the exhibition hall and both will be running full educational programmes on both days covering a range of subjects. The programmes are almost complete and will be finalised in June 2008. Visitors can reserve their place at these seminars during the Registration Process. RPD&RM Technology Introduction Sessions - October 21st and 22nd - 10.30-12.30 After a fantastic response to these sessions in 2007 -The content of this extended 2 hour technology seminar will be driven and presented by respected industry leader Graham Tromans, Chairman of the RPMA and Manager of the RM Consortium at Loughborough University. The session will give an overview of all the "rapid" technologies available including SLA,SLS,FDM, Concept Modelling and Additive Metals systems, outlining what benefits they can bring to businesses adopting them. 10.30 – 12.30: Rapid Fundamentals - Graham Tromans: Chairman of RPMA/Manager RM Consortium, Loughborough University The Rapid Machining Forum - October 21st and 22nd - 1.30-3.30 An antidote to the main Rapid Manufacturing Conference, which focuses on additive technologies, this free seminar session organised in association with the GTMA, will showcase the fast emerging area of manufacturing parts using advanced CAM software and milling techniques. Sometimes it simply makes more sense to to machine end use parts directly from the finished material. The "Rapid Machining Forum" provides a platform for the latest developments to be showcased. Technology for the Jewellery Industry - 22nd October ONLY Taking place on October 22nd, The Technology for Jewellery Seminar Day is a full programme of presentations designed to showcase how groundbreaking Rapid Product Development and Micro Manufacturing technologies can be utilised in the Jewellery and High Value goods sector. Like all businesses, the Jewellery sector is very competitive, so keeping abreast with new technology is vital. This programme will take designers through the full design-to-market cycle, from effective use of CAD (computer aided design), to prototyping models, casting, micro cutting, milling and welding.
