Europe's Largest Rapid Manufacturing Conference

TCT 2008 Launch Announcement and 1st Call for Papers

The production of end use parts using additive fabrication techniques — is without doubt one of the most exciting technologies to confront manufacturing industry in recent years. Still in its infancy compared with established manufacturing processes, the uptake of RM by blue chip companies such as Airbus, Bentley Motors and Siemens, amongst others, as well as smaller entrepreneurial companies offering innovative and eye-catching products is starting to make industry in general sit up and take notice. More and more industrial applications of RM are becoming apparent and the sharing and dissemination of this information is the primary goal of the TCT 2008 Rapid Manufacturing conference

The organisers of this event would now like to invite paper submissions for its 2008 programme. The conference, which will once again take place at the prestigious Ricoh Arena in Coventry 21st–22nd October 2008, will be fully dedicated to the applications of RM technologies and the associated business issues. The Conference Manager would welcome any paper submissions from parties interested in presenting at the TCT 2008 conference. Papers may be submitted that present a definitive application of RM — using additive fabrication — focusing on the design issues, the business benefits in terms of time-to-market and financial objectives, material issues and/or part performance.

All submissions must be non-promotional in content and presented by companies that are utilising and/or researching the technologies for an industrial application. Furthermore, all papers will be reviewed by an external committee to ensure that they meet the necessary and exacting requirements of TCT. No vendor papers are accepted from companies that sell machines, materials or associated services. Interested parties are initially requested to submit a detailed abstract (circa 400 words) of their proposed paper on or before 25th January 2008. This should include the working title, all authors/contributors and their affiliations.

Please submit abstracts to Rachel Park via email: rachel@rapidnews.com
